Our mission

Stair design shouldn't need a degree.

We built Magic Stairs because off-the-shelf stair calculators are either too simple to be useful or so complex they require professional CAD software to operate. Neither serves the homeowner deciding whether to build their own porch steps. Neither serves the carpenter who wants a quick code-check before cutting a stringer.

Magic Stairs sits between those two worlds. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing to install, nothing to update — and it speaks the language of building codes without burying you in jargon. Type in your floor-to-floor height and a few preferences, and you get a real-time 3D preview, a code-compliance check, and a printable plan you can take to the lumber yard.

How we think about the product

Three principles guide every design decision:

1 · Free to try, fair to pay

Every calculator works without an account. You only pay when you actually need to export a file — from €1 for a PDF, up to €5 for the bundle. Subscribe to Pro or Business if you export often.

2 · Precision over polish

The calculator is engineering-grade. Numbers come first. Visuals exist to confirm what the math is telling you, not the other way around.

3 · No lock-in, ever

Exports are open formats — PDF, DXF, SVG, STEP, STL. Take your files anywhere. Your projects belong to you, not to us.
